I knew there was a reason I waited so long to post to the blog this week. Today in the Seattle Times there was an article about AT&T’s new Mobile TV service. It is direct competitor to Verizon’s V-Cast. but in reality it is the same company providing the service to both AT&T and Verizon. AT&T plans to have ten channels available for subscription. It will share eight of these channels with Verizon, and offer two channels exclusive to AT&T subscribers. What I found most interesting in the article however was the fact that several TV stations are developing their own content soon to be available to mobile devices. This content could be free rather than subscription based. Once again proving that successfully utilizing this technology in no way guarantees an income. Anyway here is the link to the article:

Of particular interest to me were the statistics regarding radio VS internet radio as a source for new music. I know I have found more new music on the internet then I ever did listening to broadcast radio, and I even listen to KEXP regularly!
