I owe you some photos

Day 24

September 5th 2008

El Capitan Beach SP to Carpenteria, CA

39.0 Miles

Today and tomorrow, I plan to stick to the itinerary that way I can make my assault on the 16 cities that make up L.A. on Sunday. It probably won’t make much difference but I’m hoping that a Sunday in Los Angeles is quieter than a Saturday or a Monday.

Sticking to my plans, (a novel concept, I know) means I only had to bike 40 miles today. That left me plenty of time to ride into Santa Barbara and find the library. I spent a couple of hours updating the blog, after that it was still early, so I figured I owed you all some decent pictures. In truth I haven’t felt like taking too many lately. Mostly I’ve been intent on getting through the day and reaching my destination as quickly as possible. With the extra spare time on my hands I found my way to the Santa Barbara Mission. It is sometimes called the ‘Queen of the Missions’ because of its beautiful architecture. It certainly was impressive.

After some quick photo ops I headed out of Santa Barbara. About 15 miles later I reached Carpenteria and got my campsite for the night.
